If you are a Ross School of Business MBA or BBA junior looking for a challenging, high-level, paid summer project at a nonprofit organization or social enterprise, consider applying for an Impact Corps summer internship. The Impact Corps offers a variety of projects, including marketing, strategic planning, new business development, and civic consulting with top nonprofits and social enterprises across the world.
Because the Center subsidizes costs by raising private funds to support intern salaries, you receive market-rate compensation for your work. Find more details on our Impact Corps – Summer section.
Center for Social Impact Summer Fund
Each summer, the Center awards competitive grants for social impact summer internships to MBAs and BBA juniors in the Ross School of Business as well as graduate students in the Ford School of Public Policy. Students completing internships in the nonprofit, public, or private sectors are eligible to apply as long as the organization has a clearly defined social mission.
This opportunity enables students to receive a stipend for summer internships, in addition to project management, research, and industry expertise support from the Center.
Beyond internships, there are other formats for delivering impact during the summer. Students can apply for funding to support other social impact endeavors including:
- Launching a social enterprise (preference is given to those participating in the Impact Track of the Michigan Business Challenge)
- Self-designed consulting projects (Read how a student designed her own summer experience consulting with social enterprises in her hometown)
- Apprenticeship with an established social entrepreneur
