    Learn About Innovative Strategies for Creative Redevelopment and Economic Growth in Detroit

    The public is invited to attend the 2015 Social Impact Challenge FinalsWatch Social Impact Challenge Finalist teams present their concepts for creative redevelopment of the Fisher Body Plant 21, infusing arts, community, and economic development.

    • Expert panel on creative redevelopment in Detroit with leaders from the City government, community organizations, and investors
    • Final student presentations; top prize of $2500 awarded

    MBAs offered up to $10K for Impact Investing

    The Center is piloting three new internship funding options for MBAs this summer. This includes up to $10,000 to pursue an impact investing internship. Organizations that qualify have the intention of generating a measurable social and/or environmental impact, as well as financial return.

    Applications for impact investing and other self-directed internship funding for students in business, policy, and social work are due March 16 and April 16.

    Witness the final round of the inaugural campus-wide Michigan Business Challenge – Social Impact Track. Social entrepreneurs from across campus are competing for $15K by presenting to a panel of Detroit impact investors! Finalists include:

    BetterHope – marketplace for products made with dignity
    Blueprints for Pangaea – accessible healthcare products for emergent nations
    LessonReel – expert teachers’ online lesson planning tools
    Victory Vocational & Business Center – education, impact sourcing, and job placement for Ghanaian youth
