Skip & Carrie Gordon Scholarship App Deadline

The Center for Social Impact is proud to sponsor a Second-Year Ross MBA student as a Skip and Carrie Gordon Scholar for one academic year. This student will have demonstrated an outstanding commitment towards pursuing avenues to solve complex social challenges. 2018 Social Impact Challenge Kick-off

Grad and undergrad students from all U-M schools and colleges are invited to participate in the 2018 Social Impact Challenge (SIC). This event marks the kickoff of the competition. The case statement will be presented live, and teams will hear from Challenge partners, content experts, and stakeholders. Important logistics and planning details will be covered as well. Michigan Business Challenge – Round Two

Competing teams in Round 2 of the campus-wide Michigan Business Challenge (including teams in the Impact Track) give a seven-minute presentation that describes their company’s solution to a pressing market need or pain, an estimation of the market size, and their financial assumptions. This is followed by ten minutes of questions from the judges. Teams who advance to the Impact Track Finals will receive $500. The Center for Social Impact, Zell Lurie Institute and the Erb Institute are co-sponsors of the Impact Track

2018 Social Impact Challenge Finals

The campus and community are invited to watch the finals of the 2018 Social Impact Challenge. This year's event takes place at Michigan Ross School of Business.  The subject of the challenge involves Detroit. Attendees will hear finalist teams present their proposed plans to judges. Experts, speakers, and leaders from community organizations and civic groups, Detroit city government, and the investment community will be in attendance and part of the day's dialogue. Teams will have the opportunity to write a marketing and financial overview for their company and complete a business plan.  Finalists in the Impact Track and Semi-finalists in the Challenge-at-large will present their business plans for 15 minutes and will have 15 minutes to respond to questions from the judges. Finalists will get to discuss their businesses with the judges during a interactive sessions.
